The maker of nut-based butters and cheeses ranks third in the nation when it comes to sales of cheese alternatives. The Miyoko’s Creamery brand is sold in independent markets across the country as well as at the Raley’s grocery chain and nine of Whole Foods Market’s 11 regions.

Plant-based cheese is here to stay and is outpacing artisinal dairy cheese.

Founder Miyokio Schinner is the author of two vegan cookbooks — “The New Now and Zen Epicure” and “Artisan Vegan Cheese.”
