Petaluma leads Sonoma County in economic development — with the lowest unemployment rate at 4.1 percent and the second highest median household income at $75,655 in 2015.

Companies like World Centric choose Petaluma over cities around the Bay Area because of the affordable commercial space, available industrial acreage and high quality of life.

Petaluma is able to take advantage of its location less than 35 miles from San Francisco. Local traffic congestion and housing costs are less. Executives and personnel can readily get to the city as well as major airports and highways.

In addition to great real estate and an atmosphere that is a magnet for attracting talent, Petaluma also offers a diversity of industries that includes food leaders like Amy’s Kitchen, active-lifestyle companies like Yuba Bikes, Athleta and CamelBak and tech companies like digital ticket firm Vendini and Ciena’s Blue Planet division.
