Rediscovering the art of letterpress printing in Petaluma

Beth Schaible of Quill and Arrow (Argus-Courier)

Beth Schaible of Quill and Arrow does letterpress printing, making stationery, nature-inspired art, works of calligraphy and hand-bound leather books.

Relics from printing presses of the past and present, including many drawers of typefaces and a 1952 printing press, fill Schaible’s workspace. She often creates script electronically or by hand-carving designs into wood or linoleum. Schaible also teaches bookbinding workshops.
