Big History at Tiny Petaluma School
On Redhill Road in Petaluma sits a tiny, one-room schoolhouse that looks like it’s straight out of “Little House on the Prairie.”
Surrounded by rolling hills and neighboring farms, the white clapboard schoolhouse is where kids learn not only about farm animals and nature but also computers and internet technology.
Union School has been there for 120 years and currently serves 12 students. Tourists often stop to check it out, and it is available for after-hours events. But the little school with a big history still focuses on what’s most important — a good education for its students.
