St. Vincent de Paul High School’s Art Angels are beautifying Petaluma one mural at a time. The school club has already completed five projects across Sonoma County, including an elaborate two-story mural at Petaluma’s Cavanagh Recreation Center.

The students want to make a difference in the community through art. The club also made ceramic bowls to serve soup at a fundraiser for local organizations including the Petaluma Police Department.

“I think at that age sometimes they don’t know where to start or what they can do,” said art teacher and club co-founder Marla Pedersen. “Maybe they feel overwhelmed like there isn’t much they can do. Even the smallest things can help and bring joy to others.”
